"I just wanted to drop you a note in writing to say a huge thank you for all your support with our event this week at the Millennium. We had an absolutely fantastic evening, and it was certainly the talk of the exhibition this week from our clients!! The tour was an absolute hit with everyone, and really set the scene and made the evening all the more special for everyone. Particular thanks to you and the team at the Millennium. Everyone was extremely welcoming and helpful, and I know just worked as one big team for the day before and day of the event. Gareth and the other staff on the night were great, and we hope they enjoyed doing something a little different. Thanks to you for all your help in the lead up to this week. It has been a pleasure working with you, and everything got organised with such ease. We knew we didn't have to worry and everything would go to plan - which it did!! Wedding Etiquette

The receiving line is an excellent way to ensure you meet and greet all your guests.  The receiving line usually takes place at the entrance to the wedding breakfast room and time should be allocated, between the drinks reception and the wedding breakfast. 

Traditionally after the Bride's parents have sent out invitations they are then regarded as the host and hostess and should be first in the receiving line. Next in line are the bride and groom followed by the Groom's parents, Chief Bridesmaid and finally the Best Man.  This of course can be changed to suit the bridal party.

After the Bride and Groom have been escorted to top table, the toastmaster can introduce someone who has been asked by the bride and groom to say grace. This is optional.

At the end of the wedding breakfast, before coffee is served, it is usual for the bride and groom to cut the cake.  It was believed, in order for the bride to bear children, she(with the help of her groom) should cut the first slice. Today the first cut is more symbolic to the couple's shared future together. 

The bride and groom would normally pose for photographs just prior to cutting the first slice, allowing guests to take snaps of the occasion.  The cake is said to spread good fortune to all who eat it, hence the reason for sending a slice to all those who were unable to attend the wedding.  Here at the Millennium Stadium we have found that the cake is best served with the evening buffet as dessert.

The loyal toast is the first of traditionally four toasts although this is not often used.  The father of the bride proposes a toast to the bride and groom and continues, with an insight into his daughter's upbringing.  The groom then responds on behalf of his wife and himself.  The Groom normally usually uses this opportunity to say 'My Wife and I' for the first time and is usually followed by a round of applause from the guests.  He Thanks all those involved in the organising of the wedding, then proceeds to present his and the mother of the bride with bouquets.  The Groom thanks his attendants and presents them with his gifts before speaking about his new wife.  He will then usually propose a toast to the Bridesmaids.  After the Groom as finished, the Bride may wish to speak.  The best man responds on behalf of the Bridesmaids and announces any messages, telegrams or e-mails from absentees.  The best man then delivers his speech where he talks about the Groom, often including some reflections and memories of the past.
